CLASS INFO
All classes are for ages 7 to adult. If there’s enough interest, we’ll add a class for “young dancers,” ages 4-6.
Basics / Intro for Kids (7 & Up): Covers the basic reel and jig softshoe steps and prepares you for the Beginner I/II class.
Wednesdays 4-5:30
Basics / Intro-for teens and adults: Covers the basic reel and jig softshoe steps and prepares you for the Beginner I/II class.
Thursdays 7-8:30
Beginner I / II : Prepares you for competitive Irish dance. At this level, you can compete if you want (optional, not required!). In addition to reels and light jigs,
you'll learn slip jigs, single jigs, hornpipes, treble jigs and traditional
sets. Two classes a week are required unless prior arrangements are made.
Mondays and Thursdays 5:30-7
Novice / Prizewinner : This competition-focused class is for those who have promoted at least two of their dances to the novice level or are dancing at a commensurate level.
Wednesdays 5:30-7 and Thursdays 4-5:30
CLASS PRICING
$48/month (one class per week – option only available in Basics/Intro)
$96/month (two classes per week) $360/fall semester (15 weeks) – pay in full before 9/15 and receive 5% off ($342)

Started by Robin Getter more than 25 years ago, the Steamboat African Dance & Drum Ensemble continues to grow as an all-volunteer artist group that studies traditional African dance and music under renowned teachers from Guinea, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Mali, Senegal, Congo and Zimbabwe. At least seven African masters traveled to Steamboat during the past year to teach wildly popular community workshops.

Dance in South Routt - Classes for boys and girls, men and women. We offer studies in Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Modern, Hip-Hop, and Tap for ages three through adult. All classes focus on dance training instruction, and include stretching, strengthening, creative expression, tumbling, movement inspiration, as well as self-esteem, social and emotional growth, great exercise and loads of fun!
